One of the best double
entendre labels ever! A quality
cigar can be identified by the ash it produces; a white ash indicates fine tobacco.
White ash is also a tree species. It's wood is
prized for making the finest toboggans and rowboats....hence
the scenes in the vignettes on the sides of a couple in a row boat and
on a toboggan.
Either way White Ash makes a fine label and a
brilliant piece of art! This
shirt does not use gold ink; as the original label did not. This
label dates back to the 1880's....the use of embossing and gold gilding
did not begin until the late 1890's.
